Differences Between Type 1 And Type 2 Diabetes: Foods You Should Eat Or Avoid As A Diabetic

The best type of diabetes is no diabetes at all!The only way to achieve this is through a healthy lifestyle but that is only applicable for Type 2 diabetes!

The only way to achieve a good diabetic control is through monitoring your blood sugar levels closely in Type 1 diabetes that’s all you can do and like Type 2 diabetes follow a healthy lifestyle.

Type 1 diabetes can be controlled by injecting oneself with insulin wheras Type 2 diabetes can be controlled by mainly diet and oral medications.

The main problem is that Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition wheras Type 2 diabetes is to do with insulin resistance.Insulin resistance is more common in overweight people especially people who are obese.

Type 1 diabetes is entirely due to an almost complete deficiency of insulin.

The deficiency is the result of the immune system attacking and destroying the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas.

For the proper functioning of our bodies, it is necessary for insulin to be present at all times .

Type 1 diabetes means the pancreas does not produce any insulin. The carbohydrates arent being broken down and fat is being converted into ketones.

Ketones are highly acidic compounds that make water molecules in the blood alkaline. Therefore the person’s body becomes dehydrated. That’s why it is essential to drink plenty of water when you are ketonic.(very high blood sugar levels).

Type 2 diabetes is due to insulin resistance.Insulin resistance is when the person is eating too many carbohydrates so the pancreas has to overcompensate by producing more insulin than normal.

The person becomes overweight because only the high amount of carbohydrate is being broken down for energy and no fat is being broken down.
